First time here and seriously the food was delicious.. The waiter was very friendly my hubby had the chicken kebab with rice and salad. I had the children kebab wrap with white sauce.. Delicious!!! The decor is modest but we are not here for that.

Visiting Ocean City for the day, and we had planned to eat in Annapolis, but the stupid lifeguards kicked us off the beach because they heard thunder. Frekin Pansies! So I searched Yelp for 'vegetarian' because I had a friend with that certain eating preference, and OC KEBAB HOUSE pops up. I read a review, and they mention a vegetarian platter. Good enough for me, I think. We enter at about 6pm, are seated in a neatly decorated, medium sized dining room with Turkish TV playing in the background, and I quickly scan the menu for a vegetarian platter. No Dice! Turns out that the Falafel platter is the vegetarian platter, and the only vegetarian thing is the falafel and a few piles of veggies. Not really vegetarian per se, but I guess I should have seen that coming with a place named kebab house. I went to Turkey once about 5 years ago, and took a friend's son out to dinner for his birthday, where he ordered a plate of iskender, his favorite. I hadn't even thought of that name since then, but I order it, and it did not disappoint. Iskender is a dish made by pouring a tomato stew-like broth with slices of doner (beef and lamp cooked on the vertical spit) over a bed of pita pieces and a few dollops of plain yogurt. DELICIOUS, just like in Turkey. I included a photo if you want to know more. The falafel was more average than good, but it's falafel, not steak. And we finished the meal with a few pieces of baklava, a perfect way to end. Overall, the service wasn't exemplary, but the Iskender put this place on the COOPMAP! An actual vegetarian menu would probably bump this place up to a four, because that was a let down, but for Mediterranean meat lovers, give it a go!

Great place for real food very close to the boardwalk. I wanted to take a break from seafood n found this gem of a place. My wife loved the chicken kebab. They were fresh n real soft n flavorful. I got the Mediterranean salad and it was wholesome. We ended our meal with the traditional Turkish Dessert, Kunefe'. My son who never indulges in dessert liked it! Good meal with traditional music in the background. Will repeat if I'm back in this area.

The food was excellent, and delicious pita. The reason this establishment gets a 5 from me is that the chef/owner really cares about his customers. He came out to talk to us about an order and at the end of our meal gave us baklava on the house. I guess giving a 5 is the least I can do for him!

Like Kimberly K. said, I had skipped a year of visiting the Kebab House because the chef was apparently not the same as a few years prior. It was a shame because the spiced liver was so yummy the first few years; then, blah. However, I suggested we revisit two weeks ago and YEE HAH! the taste is back! Our party was delighted by the subtle spiciness and freshness of the Greek-style salad. The serving size was large. Previously, the chicken kebab was bland and overcooked; this time: juicy and tasty, juicy enough to reheat the next day and still enjoy without being dry. Salmon was not a kebab, but served on a plate. A nice portion, very lightly seasoned and moist, said my friend who is quite a gourmet cook. I ordered cold cucumber soup, which was light, pleasant, with just a bit of herbal flavor. It could have used a tad more cucumber, less yogurt, imho. I also ordered my favorite menu item: chicken chops. This is a meal for two! Butterflied leg and thigh portions (2.5-3 pieces) marinated in yogurt and seasonings, then grilled. These were perfectly charred, moist, and tasty. (Be careful that the thigh meat may not be cooked through on account of the bones. No problem for me, as I knew I'd micro reheat the leftovers.) Dinner came with two servings of "pita", aka flatbread, which I prefer to pita loafs that are hollow since those tend to be on the dry side. What was not as Americanized as some other restaurants was the fact that they did not serve creamer with their very strong hot tea, but they offered milk. And, for a Saturday evening, the server appeared to be fairly inexperienced and forgetful--we had to ask for napkins, milk, and part of our party's separate check more than once. She also forgot my cucumber soup altogether. I'd like to see them: (1) get new carpet, (2) level the floor--a 2-inch difference where two businesses were merged into one dining room; and (3) improve the bathrooms. Yes, I know it's a block from the beach, but I dislike dirty-looking places that serve food, regardless of menu and price. So, please enjoy the new chef here before they close for the cooler months.

I typically love Mediterranean food. So note, this review is biased. That said, the food here was pretty good...not great, not bad....pretty good. The hummus was a littl stiff and slightly under-seasoned. But, it was good nonetheless. The falafel in the falafel dinner plate, however, was delicious. As was the falafel wrap. But, the rice and cabbage with the falafel dinner plate was mediocre at best. That said, I can't give this place a glowing recommendation other than to say: if you go here get the falafel.

Went there tonight while walking at the boardwalk. It was empty at 9:00 pm on Monday night. Should have seen that as a sign. The food was horrible. My wife is vegetarian and wanted the falafel. LI and behold they didn't have that. Can you believe in a Mediterranean place they don't have FALAFEL. Then they did not have babaganoush. So we finally got the hummus. It was dry and sort of curdled. Really bad. I ordered the #5 seekh kabab. Awful. Overdone and hard lamb. The only good thing was the beer. Cheap $4 beer for a bottle of Russian beer. And then I tried the Bulgarian beer. NEVER GOING THERE. Take your money and go someplace else.

A nice surprise given the mall atmosphere. Really decent food and nice guys. My kids are slurping up the last of the Baklava now.

Fantastic!! We found it by accident on our way to the movies one rainy afternoon. It's a "hole in the wall", as they say, but don't think twice - try it. Typical Mediterranean favorites; we had a lamb gyro and a lamb kebab, served on pita, and they were both great. We eat a lot of Mediterranean food and this ranks right up there.

On every OCMD visit we eat here. Fresh, real food that is not battered and deep fried. I like the chicken kabobs either in a wrap or platter. The platter is served with a side salad divided into a trio of veg with a vinaigrette. I'm just so over the moon to see fresh vegetables in the area. Have yet to try dessert. Never enough room. Hummus and eggplant starters are a must, in a bigger crowd.

I love this place, best chicken kebab I've ever had, and their chicken tenders are sooo juicy not dry like others. They have seafood also.

Its been actually 2 years since I've been here for dinner. I don't remember what happened last time but I remember the kebobs were bland that night - so the place got knocked down to the bottom of choices to eat. So I thought I'd give it another try since I was tired of seafood and pizza and wanted a relatively healthy fresh meal. Not sure but it looks like there is new owners. Place was nicely decorated and the wait staff had some cute vests on. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The place was empty at 6pm when we arrived. I believe this place gets crowded late night when the arcade and restaurant workers get off work. This place is open late. Ordered the yogurt with garlic app with pita - bread was fresh warm and the yogurt was delicious - don't think its home made tho. I shared a Donner Kebob ( ground lamb and beef) and a Gyro Platter with my mate. The kebob was grilled to order and the Gyro meat was homemade loaf fresh ( not the frozen strips in a box). The meat was seasoned well with turmeric and other spices and not salty. The Israeli cous cous was cooked just right with a it of spice and chicken broth. The carrot and red cabbage was simple but freshly made with olive oil, salt and pepper. Even the shredded ice berg lettuce was green ( no white or wilted brown leaves)!!! The portions are big and could not resist the delicious food -so I ate everything except the plate. I did not feel bloated or get heart burn as the food is not greasy and the yogurt , carrot and cabbage salad helped digest my delicious dinner. I will now put this back up on my the top 5 places to eat out rotation when in OCMD!

Stopped in here on my most recent trip to OC and had a much better experience. Like Kimberly said below, it feels like the place has stepped up, maybe even new owners. The sigara appetizer was delicious and we all enjoyed the two kebab dinners that we ordered. One was the straight up beef kebab and the other was the beef and lamb mixture with red pepper and paprika (delicious). The bread is also really good. The waitresses who were there the night I went in for takeout couldn't have been nicer. Upgrading to four stars from three.

WOW! I really don't know how this place got the reviews that it did, but it is nowhere close to being 4 or 5 stars. I ate at this place after reading the attached reviews and I was shocked by how bad it was. I'm not sure if the folks that wrote the reviews know what middle eastern or Turkish food is supposed to taste like, but that wasn't it. I would even give them a pass if the food didn't taste turkish but was good...unfortunately it wasn't good no matter what ethnicity the food resembled. First of all we ordered the shepherd salad. It had absolutely no flavor. It was tomato, cucumber, onion with some lemon and oil drizzles on top. Nothing that resembles a true shepherd salad. We also ordered babaganoush. It was disgusting! It looked like mushy baby food that was way too garlicy. The hummus was not horrible. The chicken tabuk and kebab sandwich were ok at best. The service was not good at all. Very slow and not very attentive. We were one of 3 tables in the entire place and it took about 30-40 minutes for appetizers. I was really looking forward to a good meal since it was the first place we ate at for the start of our vacation, but this was a real miss. By the way, I use yelp all the time and this is the first time I was compelled to write a review in order to help others avoid this place

My wife and I found the restaurant while exploring OC beyond the boardwalk and on a whim we decided to have dinner there. My wife ordered the falafel wrap, when the waitress brought it out it was nothing but a huge pile of lettuce on a tortilla, a smear of humus and four teeny tiny falafel patties. When my wife complained the waitress just shrugged it off. My meal was good but overall I was disappointed that the only nice sit down meal we had at the ocean was such a let down. Also go to the bathroom before you get there, it was absolutely disgusting.

A Must Try!! Don't let the location in The Gold Coast Mall fool you. The owner is very hands on and always remembers us. Really like the gyro platter, dolmades, homemade baklava is awesome. You can't beat their fresh hummus and pita. YUMMY, YUMMY,YUMMY.......Don't miss out and give this hidden gem a chance,,

I agree with another reviewer. The owner and his friendly staff make this place a 5. It's not fancy and is in a little strip mall next to a dollar store and we just happened upon it by chance but what a find on the Coastal Highway of potentially terrible food all at basically the same price! We had a great salad and absolutely fabulous hummus and pita. The lamb kebabs were delicious. My friend has a dairy/wheat allergy and the owner was very helpful at finding her something delicious as well. Another great aspect - the smoothie/coffee bar in the front of the restaurant!!! If you are at the Carousel or any of the other nearby hotels, skip the mediocre-to-bad coffee and come here!!! I had a delicious smoothie and a wonderful coffee for breakfast on my way out of town and wish I had discovered it earlier in my stay for my morning coffee.

This was our first trip to Ocean City. The Ocean City Kebab House was a welcome change after trying several restaurants where the menus all seemed the same. We enjoyed our meal so much we came back a few nights later. The pita there is amazing, along with the appetizers and entrees. Most of our party ordered the kofta which was a big hit. Try the Raki a traditional drink similar to Ouzo. Service was excellent both times. Nice low key atmosphere compared to other nearby options just one block off of the busy boardwalk.

I've had kebabs before, but never in a legitimate Turkish restaurant. The OC Kebab House is located in the most built up section of OC, not my usual go-to place in Ocean City for edible food. Some middle eastern restaurants tend to blast the music a tad loud, but it was nice and relaxed, not too loud, and tastefully decorated. I was there during senior week, so my expectations weren't that high. I had three seniors with me, one of whom had never had lamb, the other two went the boring route and had chicken and salmon (I had lamb), so we had a nice cross section of the menu. We started with fresh humus with pita, which was fantastic. I make my own humus and this was something to strive for. The pita appeared to be home made, and it was fresh and warm. A nice start. The menu says the kebab is served with a green salad, it was actually served with cold veggies, which were much more interesting the a green salad. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the portions were on the large side. You definitely get your money's worth. The lamb was nice and moist, and very flavorful. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered, and I've made another convert to the wonders of lamb. The menu is quite varied and based on the quality of our cross sectional order, I imagine it's all quite good. The only downside was the server wasn't very attentive. I had to wave to get our bread refilled, and she didn't stop by during the meal. It was sort of ok as we didn't need anything, but we could have used some drink refills. Perhaps she was burned out by senior week. I plan on going back in the near future so I'll update this review as appropriate. Updated: I went back again. The food is very consistent, we call had something different and everyone enjoyed it. I'm also pleased to report that the service was head and shoulders over what I experienced in my previous visit. Very attentive, quick with suggestions, and on the ball with refills and clearing the table. Yay!

Fanastic change of pace. After a while at OC you get sick and tired of the same old greasy food. We ate at this place late on a Saturday night. The service was fantastic. The owner was around and was a very nice fellow. I am partial to Greek food but Turkish food is not far from what we like. The doner (Gyro) was very good. It wasn't the same old Kronos crap. This was different. Other members of my party had chicken shish kebob and they gave it rave reviews. I also sampled a piece of the beef tenderloin kebab. This too was excellent. The only complaint....the tzatziki sauce was a bit runny. Basically it was made with yogurt as-is. True tzatziki should use strained yogurt (using a cheescloth left in the fridge overnight). This is not a problem unique to this place, I run into many Greek places that "cheat" with tzatziki in this manner. (It is easier to make it right away when you don't have to wait for it to strain overnight. But other than that, everything was quite good. UPDATE: Went back again recently and it is still awesome. We have a place in North OC and I don't frequent downtown OC that much. But I may have to make an exception to eat here. It is a little pricey, but not unreasonable.

Great place, the food was amazing. The only reason why I am not giving it all five stars is because the service was kinda slow. Don't get me wrong, the waitress was great, but they only had two waitresses working in the dining room during the dinner rush. So needless to say she was unable to spend much time taking care of us. If you find yourself in OC, you must try this place.

I tried this place for the first time this month. I thought it was a little pricey, but the food is worth it. Service was very quick and friendly. I will definately be eating here again.
